Hi everyone,
2 years after setting up my Akitio Thunder2 (GTX 1060), I'm now trying to replace it with an Aorus Gaming Box 1080 with a TB3 to TB2 adapter.
I thought that it would be pretty straight forward (same hot plug timing etc) but I'm stuck, both on Windows and on Mac OS.
For the Windows part : if I turn on the Mac with the eGPU connected, the screen stays black (same with Akitio).
If I try to hot plug it at the beginning of the Windows spinning wheel, the computer freezes. Same when I plug it on rEFInd.
If I connect it a little later during Windows boot, the eGPU is not detected.
Am I missing something ?
On Mac OS, I've downgraded from Mojave to High Sierra 10.13.6 (way more fluid on Safari), I've installed macOS-eGPU and followed the instructions, but the eGPU is detected as Nvidia chip model
