Firstly, this all works splendidly in Mac OS, full plug-and-play.
But on Bootcamp, I have tried everything I can think of. Whilst 1903 got rid of the issue with Error Code 12 on latter Windows versions, (Problem 1) I have never been able to get the EGPU to put a picture on the monitor. It triggers it to turn itself on, as though some signal is being received, but after flicking through inputs and finding nothing, it turns itself of.
In the latest Windows, the EGPU and graphics card showed up, correctly named in Device manager, but with Error 12.
(Problem 2) In 1903, I cannot get it to recognise the Vega 64 with the correct drivers. When hot-plugged it just shows the generic driver name for Windows and there is no sign that the EGPU is being used. Bootcampdrivers.com and AMD drivers, use their respective setup.exe files, just seem to target the discreet Radeon Pro 560X.
I'm pulling, what little hair I have, out.
Can anybody help me work out what's going so badly wrong, please?
After a week of torment, I finally managed to get this working at 2am this morning!!
The only difference? I unplugged all of the USB connections from the EGPU when going through the steps.
Plugging them back in, once configured, leads to some issues where they sporadically cut out (mouse goes dead, webcam doesn't update), so still some investigating to do!
