Can I get some help ? 2015 15" MBP, Windows 10 Boot Camp , Razer Core X Chroma , Nvidea RTX 2080 Ti
2015 15" MBP,
ThunderBolt 3 -> 2 Adapter,
Windows 10 Boot Camp ,
Nvidea RTX 2080 Ti
Im trying to start this up. So i have windows bootcamp and trying to use nvidia in windows cause no support for macOSX.
When the bootcamp starts up windows i believe i "hotplug" the egpu by having it connected and turning it on when the windows logo starts spinning . So far wither it freezes or doesnt get detected.
Am i missing any software besides Bootcamp and windows 10 .
I believe i need the device to be recognized before i can install the nvidia drivers off of their website
Im very new to this topic , im away from home and just want to play tarkov lol
Appreciate any help
@fillet What's the full specs of your 2015 15-in MacBook Pro and version of Windows 10? I have a base configuration and it works with the AORUS RTX 2080 Ti Gaming Box running Windows 10 1903 18362.30. Hot-plug doesn't work so I have the eGPU connected to the MBP prior to bootup. I use @goalque's automate-eGPU EFI boot loader and modified dsdt.aml so that I could allocate Large Memory for Radeon eGPU as well.
Hello . When installing all my stuff I did take a look at your build lol.
Specs - 2015 15' MPR Retina 2.2 Ghz Intel Iris Pro 5200 Graphics
Windows 10 Home Version 1909 OS Build 18363.592
So current Update:
If i want to use the graphics I have to HotPlug everytime i restart my laptop. Then the Core X connets and displays on my external monitor. After logging in sometimes I would get random freezing. And have to shut down my computer and restart.
Things I tried :
Disable the intel graphics
This almost worked , but I wasnt sure because the freezing occured still at random.
Next thing I tried: using an HDMI instead of a DisplayPort.
So far so good i guess. I havent got a freeze in the one time i tried, but using a HDMI i cant access my monitors G-Sync . So if there is a cure that allows me to use Displayport , it would much be appreciated.
Benchmark- Havent done any test but in 1440p i got like 100 frames in Tarkov. Pretty good, i know i have a bottleneck using TB2 connection as well as egpu. so if i can use display port I would like to see how overclocking my monitor would work.
@fillet Definitely use it with an external monitor through DisplayPort. I tried internal display loopback mode that it crashed randomly too.
Yea Ill try again using display port again. I never got this error 12 that i read in reviews but also using the TB2 port further away from the charger might help. Do you know how I can post my build ?
