Hello,

Doom Eternal freezes on the first loading screen when eGPU is ON.

Before I boot my eGPU, the game runs without problem (no freeze)...

Do you have an idea?

Thanks. I updated the NVIDIA drivers and it works. But i have another problem.

Performance are horrible, and i think this is because of Vulkan that does not detect my eGPU.

My eGPU uses the windows 10 graphics settings : https://www.howtogeek.com/351522/how-to-choose-which-gpu-a-game-uses-on-windows-10/ which works with DirectX.

I have problems with all Vulkan exclusive games (Doom 2016). Hope this was fixed but it seems the problem still remains with Doom Eternal... 🙁

I can run all Direct X games on 2560x1440 at 60 fps, and Doom Eternel barely run 1280x720 at 30 fps...

@bloodstainer

With the eGPU plugged in, Use Nvidia control panel to select the .exe file for Doom Eternal and set it to use the RTX 2060

Set power management mode to Maximum Performance.

😳 It should run at 60fps as well.

I know, but the game does not recognize my eGPU (because of the non-support of DirectX I suppose)...

If someone has a solution...

Set power management mode to Maximum Performance.

Can't access to Nvidia control pannel (because i use the eGpu with the internal screen (iMac)).

And i set graphics settings for the game to High Performance, but as i said, this feature of Windows 10 works only for DirectX games (99,99999% of existing games). But Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal is Vulkan only.

The RTX cards are compatible with Vulkan. Seems like there is another element in play.

RTX are compatible with Vulkan. But Graphics settings feature of Windows is only compatible with DirectX.

And i need to use this feature to use my eGPU...
