Had a setup with a 2016 MBP with akitio node thunderbolt 3 and a Radeon 570 and recently upgraded to the new 16 inch MBP.

Went to plug my new computer into my old drive for windows and it showed a black screen, went ahead and wiped it and reinstalled windows on the external device. After installing bootcamp support software and getting new AMD drivers from bootcampdrivers, I plugged in my egpu and it never showed up. On my old computer it showed up and I had to fix error 12, but here the egpu doesn’t even show up. I can hear the card running though.

Windows v2004 btw & egpu is plug in play in macOS, idk why windows is being so difficult. Windows is on an external drive

I’m starting to believe that bootcamp doesn’t have thunderbolt drivers or something along those lines so it never detects the egpu. Any help to fix?

@mac_editor, I’m using the 2019 16 inch now, I mentioned 2016 as that was my previous setup

@mac_editor, went ahead and tried the things in those posts and it doesn’t seem to work, I’m using the 2004 version for win10 and when I do the bootefi thing, it does recognize my gpu and I do the port dance (L -> R -> L) and windows still doesn’t recognize the gpu. I attached what I see.

For whatever reason, without port dance it did connect for a couple of seconds and then disconnected and froze. It gave me the blue screen and then attempted to do automatic recovery and now it boots perfectly without any port dance or anything on the newest bootdrivers software (red adrenaline) and the newest windows 10 iso.

Thanks for the help!
