Hey everyone -- as you can see, my   5600XT   eGPU, for whatever reason, is working perfectly well on the latest version of Windows 10 - no error 12, no PCI.sys, or custom EFI bootloader necessary(!!!!!)

Any idea how this could've happened?
My computer was previously having error 12 on a version of 1903, so I'm happily surprised and stumped at what happened -- if you guys can help me figure out what went right and pass it on, please do!

System specs are below
Macbook Pro   16 in.i7-9750H, 5300M dGPU
Gigabyte OC AMD   5600 XT   eGPU in Sonet   Breakaway Box   550W
Windows 10 Version 2004, Build 19041.508

Here's how it happened -- my computer was on 1903-18362.30, using   bootcampdrivers  's April Red 2020 version of   AMD drivers  , with the eGPU/dGPU working, but I forgot to turn off automatic updates and my computer updated itself.
On later 1903   builds  , my computer had error 12 as expected, but when I did a feature update directly to 2004 (I believed i had installed all the possible 1903 updates), error 12 vanished.
This was a VERY pleasant surprise.

Awesome. Thanks for the good news.

Now would be the perfect time to turn off automatic Windows updates. 😄

@brandon_baik, so I am no the only one. I let Windows update to 1909 and it also started to just work. So I guess I am less stressed before the next 2004 update.

@brandon_baik, it is also same to my case, my spec:

MacBook Pro 15 (2019, 560x, i9)

Gigabyte Aorus 5700XT

ADT R43SG-TB3

I have installed new Window 10 and update to Windows 10 Version 2004, Build 19041.450, and then install bootcampdriver 2020 Aug Red....so amazing, no error 12, and 5700XT is detected automatically. It also can accelerate my internal Mon., without attach any external mon.

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.

@mini-i5, Yes, 1909 build 18363.1082 works at the moment. I happened to have the installer for 1909 and went ahead with it. Hotplugged first time, then installed AMD Radeon Sfotware 20.8.3, first few reboots with egpu connected seemed to be problematic with green stuff appearing and reappearing, but mainly because I did not see the boot menu when holding Alt. So I switched windows to be the default to boot and then magically things started to work. I do need to rewire directly to get back to macos or use the bootcamp "boot to macos" but it is fine for the time being when I use it as a game console Smile

Glad you got it working for you. 😀

It’s been awhile since I’ve seen any reports of success with version 1909.

Sure, what's your build? Laptop? GPU? Enclosure. Remember, windows is very finicky and often hardware specific.

Specifically, I got a build working on 1903-18362.30 on MBP 16 in, then updated to 2004.

For more info about my specific build, click [build link] at the bottom of the post.

@brandon_baik, I just setup my signature. My build is the 20251.1. Ive been trying to find the 19041.450 iso files so I can actually update windows to the right update to see it will work for me

@brandon_baik, It looks like we have a similar if not the same build Smile

@brandon_baik, If you have more info on how youve figure this out id love to know. Ive spend 14 hrs yesterday and about 8 today trying to solve this so i can just game on bootcamp.
