Nope! Not sure what you guys are doing to get it to work. I tried efi hack (As you can see my intel iGPU is enabled), port dance, bootcampdrivers, etc...

😥

screenshot

was anyone else able to replicate this (having igpu and dgpu activated with no yellow band or error)? I do not care for internal display attachment to the igpu, I just need both activated and no error code. thanks

All I did was the boot to safe mode -> DDU -> bootcampdrivers -> EFI hack -> normal boot and I was able to get both iGPU and dGPU with internal screen.

This whole AMD dGPU + eGPU is just not worth it. Even if you get it to work, any simple update from either MacOS or Windows OS side will break it. My dGPU (5500m) is capable of playing most games I play at high settings without any issues (ex. I get 150+ FPS in Overwatch with Ultra settings 😯 )

is this with fast insider ring? did you download the intel 630 drivers from website directly or was it auto download windows update driver? what bootcampdrivers did you use? blue? Red? v2?

can you confirm if you can get both gpus in bootcamp again without error? the only reason I ask is because no one I read online has been able to get this to work and you may have just figured it out. thanks

You can see the Windows version in the screenshot at the bottom right. It's the fast ring.

iGPU drivers downloaded automatically and I used bootcampdrivers 2020 red gaming edition (best FPS in games)

so if you efi hack boot into bootcamp right now, both gpus are working with no error? btw, thanks for answering my questions. I've been trying to get this to work for along time now.

Approve that. Previously used to connect 1080ti sonnet egpu to the right top port of 15 inch 2019 macbook while circles spinning on the windows boot. Now i am able to use left top port for hot-connection after boot is finished or even before the boot (for example turning on egpu in mac os and restarting in bootcamp with active egpu).

However, am still not pretty sure what kind of update solved the problem, cause am not in the insider problem and used to install all the updates till the middle february.

Update: do not use any efi, clean boot camp setup, internal display.

Just to chip in, I also have both dGPU and iGPU working with no issues on my 16inch 2019. I'm on the earlier approved build ( 18362.230 ), drivers for the Intel via Windows. Did the usual DDU, mount EFI, install AMD Red bootcamp drivers, turn off Windows Update both in Services and in Tasks.

edit: should add since my sig isn't appearing, Razer Core X, Vega 64, 2mb active thunderbolt cable.

Are you able to boot up with no egpu attached and have both igpu and dgpu working? So No egpu attached, mount efi, boot, and both internal gpus are working with no error?

or do you have to throw the egpu into the mix?

im still unable to achieve this.

thanks.

As long as I run the Apple boot EFI, without connecting eGPU, both dgpu and igpu show up.

If connected, only dgpu and egpu show up (and can run internal and external screens respectively, though I select to only output to eGPU screen).

This is not working for me. I get code 43 on dgpu. I am working with a 2019 MBP 15”. Although it shouldn’t be any different.

all efi boot files work for me on activating the igpu. It’s just when it does, errors out the dgpu.

could it be possible to edit the code to make this work? I remember reading someone with a 16” having the same problems as me.

thanks for all the help.

I gave up on this whole thing to be honest and already returned my eGPU enclosure. Having the Razer X Core Chroma didn't help either since its plagued with issues as well. Im happy with my 5500m as my primary GPU for now.

I understand you, the effort is too big. I hesitate before trying to set up my Sonnet on Bootcamp.

I can confirm that (fast)preview build 19569.1000 has not solved the error 12 problem for my setup.

I still have to disable / enable the PCIe ports on each boot and use the EFI hack.

I was stuck on Error 12 up until I installed the Fast Insider Preview, now everything is plug n play and everything works!

I didn't even run DDU after updating Windows, it just started working mid-update all of a sudden.

@melonking, I've read somewhere thet VEGA cards are the worst to have working. Not know if it's true. I just can say that I had it before the Win10 beta update and didn't work. Now I have a 5700 and works with the beta update so I can't help further.

@majortom67, Iv actually just removed the bootcamp partition. I'm cutting out windows only programs like 3DSMax from my workflow. Rise of Tomb Raider and City Skylines run just as well on mac as windows, so I can survive with mac gaming for a while.

In 6 months or so I'll check on the state of bootcamp egpus again to see if things have improved. The only real loss is not being able to use oculus anymore, but I can always swap that for a vive!

MacMini 2018 + Sonnet Enclosure + AMD 5700XT + Windows 10 Insider Preview 19577.1000 (rs_prerelease) (2) amd64

= error 12 if I plug the eGPU after boot

= black screen If I boot with the eGPU plugged-in.

Official AMD Drivers.

Also bootcamp drivers do not install with default procedure, they do install with msiexec -i BootCamp.msi from elevated prompt but they don't work anymore (devices remain unrecognized and bootcamp icon does not appear on the taskbar).

@arouris, Did you use DDU to uninstall display drivers?  That's what I did, then installed the latest AMD official drivers (not the bootcampdrivers) in order to get my build working
