[Help] Mac mini couldn't work with EG200
macOS 10.14.6 (18G9216)
Boot ROM Version： 1518.104.22.168.0 (iBridge: 18.16.14663.0.0,0)
Driver Version： Adrenalin 21.5.2 Recommended (WHQL)
PS: FileVault is off
My link: mac -> thunderbolt -> eg200 -> HDMI -> monitor
Start step: power on eg200(gpu start working, gpu fan is spin) -> power on mac
- cant start into windows directly(without any extra operation), always black screen, if switch hdmi cable to mac can see flash screen. (my old razer core v2 can run directly)
- boot with apple_set_os loader, same start step, few times can success login windows, but some times still black screen.
- boot without egpu and hot plug in windows, show error 12.
- boot without egpu and plug in egpu after few seconds, still black screen.
@jeep3333, When switching out equipment, I'd always run DDU to not only remove the existing drivers for the old eGPU but also disassociate the PCIe link. My recommendation is to boot back into Windows without the eGPU, run DDU then reboot and hot-plug the new eGPU to install drivers. Shut the system down instead of rebooting following driver installation. To keep the iGPU activated with eGPU at cold plug, you'd need the modified apple_set_os.efi v0.5 for T2 Macs. This is what I've been using with 2018 Mac mini for a couple years now.
