Hi,
I’m trying to play Call of Duty Warzone on my MacBook Pro 15’ 2018. It has an i7 6-cores CPU and got 4 TB3 ports.
My eGPU is an AMD RX Vega 64 in a Mantiz V2 box.
When I play the game, I got 20-50 FPS average. It is clearly underperforming. You can see on the images below the stats of my CPU and GPU while running the game. You can see that the GPU is on high utilisation but the CPU runs between 20-30% which is very strange. It should be a lot more... I also often experience crashes of the eGPU.
Any idea of what causing this issue?

.Make sure Power Options is set to High Performance in the Windows 10 system settings.
Follow this guide - How to Set Preferred GPU for Apps in Windows 10:
https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/103965-set-preferred-gpu-apps-windows-10-a.html
Also, go to the game library folder where the .exe file is located. Right click on the .exe file and adjust the game properties there.
Use a full-speed (up to 40 Gb/s) thunderbolt 3 cable (In Mac OS System Information, check the speed of the Thunderbolt Bus port that is connected to your Mantiz box)
Disable MSI Afterburner running in Windows.
And check your COD in-game settings against these suggestions:

Otherwise, this a total shocker. You have the only copy of COD running on the entire PC platform with low FPS. How strange.

@mini-i5, I’ve checked all of these but it still not working. It’s like my CPU is limited to 50% usage or it doesn’t need to go higher? I don’t know it’s really weird actually, I guess this occurs only on Warzone...

.I did a 3DMark Time Spy benchmark for my GPU and I get an score a bit below the average one for my GPU. I guess it’s because it loses a bit as an eGPU and also because I didn’t OC it... So I don’t think my GPU is causing the issue...

.Only the COD development team fully understands the reasons why the game performs so poorly on every computer known to human kind. They still get paid regardless.
Btw, you will typically see better eGPU performance with an external display. Loop back mode over Thunderbolt comes with an additional penalty. As do lower resolutions.
@mini-i5, I’m am using an external display plugged directly to the GPU because making it working on the internal display is a shame and it seems impossible.

.Ok, tell us what your Time Spy scores are.
Combined: 7020
GPU: 7863
CPU: 4367
Those are for my system.
here are my result:
combined: 6446
GPU: 6722
CPU: 5231

.Those Time Spy results look pretty good. So your setup is fine.
Undoubtedly, the COD developers will fix their mess with the next update (ha ha ha, I’m so funny! They’re never going to fix anything).
@mini-i5, yeah this game is a total shame. Like, 100 gigs for those bad graphics and all... this game is so badly optimized... And the servers... Well, thank you for your help. I thought it was my set up at first because I don’t play so much game in order to have references...
I can see you have the RX 5700 XT, what about it? I just ordered it yesterday... Is it preforming well as a eGPU on your setup? Let me know. Thanks!
