I installed bootcamp purely so I could update my ASUS XG Workstation firmware. But now that it’s installed, I can’t get anything working! Mouse and keyboard don’t work, eGPU isn’t detected. Hell, I had to come on this forum and find what Intel NUC thunderbolt driver to install to even get the system to know I have thunderbolt. Still doesn’t work though. MacBook Pro 16”, and yep I installed the bootcamp drivers. Am I missing something??

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.

If your built in keyboard and mouse don't work then something went wrong during bootcamp drivers.

I have installed bootcamp/windows on about 6-7 different Macs, multiple times on each machine, and while the majority of them were painless instals there were times when they became complete nightmares due to an incremental update to either drivers or Windows, so you are not alone!

If I were you I would start from scratch because you shouldn't need TB drivers to detect your eGPU, maybe try the exact windows version thats listed in someone else's build too?

Yeah, I do think I need to reinstall. Something to note - I used WinToUSB to install windows directly onto an external, so that I didn’t have to partition my internal drive. But I’ve read some similar posts online where people’s drivers aren’t working after using WinToUSB to install Windows. Is there a manual way to install windows to an external drive?
