Had the easiest setup with a 2015 iMac 4k iGPU model using Aorus 1070 Gaming Box with TB3>TB2 adapter using iMac integrated display. Didn't work with macOS but I was using it for Windows 10. Was literally plug and play.

Now, after the latest Big Sur update, I get a black screen after the chime. Doesn't matter if I try and use the Apple bootloader or not. The only way to see the bootloader (or boot into Bootcamp or macOS) is to disconnect the eGPU from the iMac

Anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get the eGPU working again in W10? I guess it is possible the eGPU is taking over the display output?

Thanks.

@bootz, It's likely due to a firmware change that came with the macOS update. You'd need an EFI boot loader to keep the iGPU activated when there's an eGPU connected. My recommendation is to use automate-eGPU EFI.

@itsage, Thank you for the suggestion. I did setup the new boot loader, however it wasn't necessary. Apparently putting the eGPU in timeout overnight (unplugged TB and power supply) was enough.

So we are back to normal!
