@ageekinthecity, great I can help, I’ll make a build that is far simpler than others. Also I have come across issues and solutions which no one has listed

@tyrant675, thanks for your help. Finally got it working with the steps above. If anyone want to try and create a "build"  with the steps above, please feel free, my setup is as follows:

2019 Macbook Pro 16"
i9 9th Gen with 8 Cores
32 GB RAM
dGPU Radeon Pro 5500M
eGPU (Razer Core X)
PowerColor AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT
Samsung C49RG90 49" Ultrawide 5120x1440 120Hz

Does the 6800xt work natively in Big Sur?

@erik_tank, no! Still waiting for Apple to release an update with the new AMD drivers. Had my hopes up for todays' updates, but unfortunately wasn't at this time. But you can certainly use it on Windows. Just got Cyberpunk 2077 and believe it or not, it takes a toll on the new 6800XT. Because I'm using an ultra-wide monitor (3840x1080) I'm getting an average of 51fps. Although it might be Windows on Bootcamp + eGPU setup on Thunderbolt 3 is not the same as directly connected to the PCI slot.

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.

@ageekinthecity, I'm running RTX 3080 eGPU with a 3840 x 1080 monitor as well. What are your graphics settings in Cyberpunk 2077?

@itsage, perhaps we should open a new forum topic for this, so we don't deviate this one. If you do, let me know the link. Cheers.

If you disconnect the eGPU with modified bootx64 in EFI partition - Can it boot normally and use just iGPU without replacing the original file?

@susurs, The modified bootx64.efi would always load up first. If there's no eGPU detected the EFI loader would start Windows with only iGPU. You can also hit the SKIP shortcut key [z] from what I recall.

Thank you!

In case anyone does not want to use Clover Configurator for mounting EFI to replace bootx64, here are few simple commands to do it manually:

To mount EFI partition enter the following in the terminal (without quotes):

diskutil list

diskutil mount /dev/disk...(replace “disk...” part with complete identifier of the EFI partition - in my case complete identifier is: disk0s1 and probably it is the same for most of us)

(in case of error enter: “sudo -s” without quotes and repeat the mount command)

To unmount:

diskutil unmount /dev/disk...

P.S. Any way to set timer (countdown) for time when boot screen is displayed in apple_set_os.efi to a lower number?
