Not working : Razer Core X + MacBook Pro
As soon as i hotplug the core to the MacBook via TB3, theres a blue screen and it crashes. If i start the MAcbook with it plugged in, it never gets past the Windows loading screen.
Thinking of returning the Core now. Any ideas on how to get this to work?
what macbook pro is it? (year, size)
Try plugging the core in, just after the windows logo shows up, not before.
Its a mid 2017 non touch bar.
So I tried plugging it in just after the window logo appears, still nothing.
So I reinstalled my windows to see if that fixes it, and also upgraded to Mojave from High Sierra, and that didn't help either.
So if I check the device manager, under "Display Adapters", it shows just the iGPU, so now its not being detected at all.
Maybe I connected the power wrong? The EVGA light on the egpu is turned on though.
Theres 2 4+4 pins Ive put into the card, and 2 3+2 pins come from the Core. There also 2 3+3 additional pins on the card side and 2 2+2 pins on the Core. I tried connecting these to each other, that made it not power up at all.
Also when it powers on, the fans on the gpu rotate one by one and then keep stopping, is this normal?
Kind of at a loss here how to fix it not being detected.
I have the same issue on Windows (code 43, stopped device) with a Core X + Vega 64 if I try to connect the display to the HDMI out on my mac mini, but it works if I connect the display via the HDMI port on the gpu card itself. Where are you connecting the monitor from?
@nickhmm6 it sounds to me like you are connecting the power cables wrong... are you able out upload a pic? Another guy on here did the same, same error 43... I forgot to plug all my cables in one instal, error 43...
