My brother had an  Oculus Rift  abandoned, dusty so I was bored and decided to give it a shot. Installed BootCamp on my  Macbook Pro  15 2019 Intel i9 8core 32GB of ram with a built in Radeon Pro 560X and I was schocked at how well it performed. Even non VR games just had good quality performance. But I wanted more. So I recently just ordered a Razer Chroma X and a Powercolor Red Devil  5700 XT ...

Really stoked for the arrival. I have never been a gamer but this VR thing just blows my mind. Hopefully I am able to get a good performance boost since it was not cheap at all! (eGPU and GPU)

Any thoughts on this combo?

thank you Smile

@ricardo_felix, 2019 16-in MBP is one of the best host laptops for eGPU. I can only imagine the CPU performs better when RX 5700 XT eGPU carries the graphics load so that the cooling system handles only the i9 8-core.

@itsage, Yeah I recently found out Apple killed their last graphics card on their latest MPB... Sadly I purchased my MPB in 2019 but It's a decent machine with a decent card (Radeon Pro 560x)

Just wondering if this combo (Razer Chroma X + 5700X) will improve my gaming experience in bootcamp...

anyways I  will find out and let future readers how it went...
