I have a Lenovo C940 + AMD RX 5700 XT + Razer Core X

It runs COD Warzone in ~30-55 fps, no matter which graphical config I choose (720p, 1080p, 4k - Low to Ultra), it's super weird. I suffer from the same issues in PUBG and APEX legends (Less severe in the latter), don't know if it is an issue of bandiwith, CPU or GPU. I'm going insane. I will report any update I have.

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.

  1. Exact same problem for me.  I have tried all settings for Warzone and all resolutions, regardless, 25-55.  I got killed before I even saw the player.  I fixed the CS:GO problem by turning off features, same as Fortnite, all good. But Warzone is so bad no matter what. I even tried undervolt to prevent overheat.  Same.  Nothing changed.
  2.

My specs:

Dell XPS 13 7390 i7-10710U

16GB RAM

Razer Core X

Powercolor Red Devil 5700 XT 8GB

I am also encountered the same issue with 5700 in games which have high CPU usage like Kingdom come deliverance and Planet Zoo where it requires to load bunch of assets.

I tried to use different Windows version and different AMD drivers, but to no avail.

When I use dGPU to run the above games, the result fps is actually better than using eGPU

Edit:

After updated to BootCamp Driver Adrenaline March, performance in Kingdom come deliverance improves significantly.

@andy_leung, Hey have you found any solutions? I have the exact same video card in a core x and using a razer blade stealth late 2019

Having tons of micro stutters and max fps in overwatch is 80...

@saul_sigalov, Unfortunately, not yet, I tried Warzone last week, it still capped me at 45 FPS without anybody and 20 FPS when I am shooting someone.  I've heard that card in desktop does not have that problem, I don't believe it's Core X though, so I suspected that it's my thunderbolt is not in full speed but I haven't found a way to figure out the full speed of it yet.  I installed the latest thunderbolt driver already but nothing changed.  I will let you know when I find anything.

Concerning the stutters issues on RX5700, it seems to be a running issue. I spotted it it in the changelog of the april release.

Wait and see I suppose Cry

Although I want to be supportive for the AMD teams, I can't stop myself from being upset to have spent half of a thousand dollars on a not-so-well-working-component...
