Bit of an odd one folks, bear with me. I do the EFI port dance regardless to get my eGPU working in bootcamp (full build details in sig).

My eGPU (Razer core x / Vega 64) works *perfectly* within Bootcamp, *but only when* my dGPU (Radeon 5500M) has an error 43.

This happens through installation of BootCampDrivers' March edition.

Updating to the April edition, the 5500M installs correctly and it's a crapshoot whether my Vega64 will work.

So, the odd (but hopefully understandable) question: how can I cause an error 43 on my dGPU? I.e., how can I make a target cause error 43? Is it possible?

2019 16-inch MacBook Pro Retina (2.3ghz Intel i9) // Radeon 5500M (8GB).
MacOS Catalina // Bootcamp Win10 1903 (18362.230).
Razer Core X // Vega 64 // 2m Active Thunderbolt cable.

@arizor, I have the same issue with April driver. Can you try January drivers? I'm using Win10-Radeon-Software-Adrenalin-Jan2020-BootCamp-Red-Edition and this one works.

Hey mate, yep January edition works, but the same inconsistency in booting into windows.

It really seems like the March drivers, due to making my 5500M do a code 43, are perfect to guarantee eGPU boot up into windows every time without problems.

I just need to figure out how to update drivers and keep the error 43 on my 5500, bizarrely...

I have noticed that my enclosure works every boot if I don't have any USB devices connected to the laptop. I connect everything to my Core Chroma and every reboot/startup works.

Yep I've also noticed any success at all hinges upon having nothing but the eGPU connected until I'm in Windows properly.
