Installation steps
+ I used an Apple ThunderBolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2/1 adapter, and an Apple Thunderbolt 2 cable to connect the Mantiz Venus to the TB1 MacBook Pro
+ I ran Mac_editor’s PurgeWrangler script, which worked beautifully the first time
+ Reboot, hot plug, log-out, log-in… and the eGPU was operational in macOS

How many displays do you have hooked up to the RX580? What resolutions are they running at? What refresh rates?
I've got an old Macbook Air mid-2013 with thunderbolt 1. Was curious to see if I could breath new life into it with an RX580 I've got. I'll already be setting up an eGPU for my work laptop, which is a Macbook Pro 2018 with thunderbolt 3, but was curious if I could reuse the eGPU with the Macbook air to drive two or three displays, depending on possible resolution/refresh rate.

I'm looking at putting together a similar setup, and wondering how this is working for you.
I think the only difference is that my dGPU went out and has since been disabled. Any insight into whether or not that will affect a set up like yours?
To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.
.Hi there,
I have a very similar setup except for a Macbook Pro 13" mid-2012.
Everything's working well most of the time BUT :
- I noticed that when on battery, if the MBP put itself in sleep mode, I cannot wake it up. I have to hard reboot.
- Using a TB3 adapter, the Mantiz Venus power supply is always on. Meaning that you'll heard the power supply fan.
I don't know if anybody else noticed those behavior with a similar setup?
