My laptop what I'm using is:
-Elitebook 8470P with i5-3320M
-16GB of DDR3 RAM
-480GB Intel SSD
-500GB HDD
-1600x900 14" internal screen (external is SAMSUNG S24B420 LED 24' 1920x1200)
-iGPU HD 4000
-Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

eGPU
: AMD RADEON R9 290X 3GB
EXP GDC Beast 8.5c
Chieftec CFT-560-A12S 560W
Old ATX enclosure

Software:

nando4's egpu setup 1.35

Installation steps

DSDT modification (36-bit), inject DSDT via setup 1.35, and copied this dsdt.aml for the newest BIOS F.74 to setup 1.35 as per instructions in the DSDT override guide.

When I turn on the laptop I have disconnected the ExpressCard slot and turned off Power Supply. Next on boot, I'm selecting an automated startup in setup and turning on PSU, and next connect the ExpressCard slot.

The card is running in Gen2. Screenshots, and photo of the build are below.

I switched ExpressCard as Gen2 PCI-E 2.0 and it was working without problems from Gen1.

Graphic card working with HP 8470p laptop on Express Card slot. It was connected by EXP GDC riser. Below are shown configuration screens from GPU-Z and AIDA64.

The dGPU card was installed in an old ATX enclosure with Chieftec 560W power supply and was connected to a 1920×1200 22′ Samsung Monitor. The card in stress has 80 degrees Celcius.
