Figured I'd put together a guide for my (now deceased) NUC so that there is a record of it in the implementations database. I no longer actually have this setup as the Thunderbolt controller on the motherboard died a while back (the NUC itself works, but the Thunderbolt functionality is dead, so I cannibalized the eGPU, SSD and memory for a T430s as a replacement since).
- CPU: CPU: i3 3217U
- Motherboard: Intel DC33217CK NUC Board
- Case: Silverstone PT14 Aluminum NUC Case
- Memory: 2x4Gb DDR3 1333Mhz
- Storage: BP4e V2 120GB mSATA SSD
- Power Supply: FSP 65W NUC PSU + Dell DA-2 (w/5.5x2.5mm plug) adapter for the eGPU
- OS: Windows 10 64-bit
- eGPU Enclosure: Akitio Thunder2
- eGPU: Gigabyte Low-Profile OC GTX750Ti 2GB
How to get it running:
- Put everything together and connect the eGPU to the NUC via the Thunderbolt cable.
- Power up the NUC, the eGPU should power up as well.
- Once you hit Windows 10, either let it install the nVidia drivers, or do it yourself. Reboot when prompted.
- I ran into no Code 12, or any other issues with this setup. It was plug and play.

This is a nice tribute to the dead Thunderbolt board. I love velcro strap! 😀

Yeah. That's also where that Thunder2 died on the altar of my stupidity
I really liked that little box. It was sad to see it go.
