Compute wise it doesn't matter(blender and stuff). If you plan to game then use egpu video output and 1070 is kind of a waste for mpcie connection. For 1070 I'd consider thunderbolt.

Thunderbolt on e531?!

how?!
is it possible to use 1070 on e531?! If so, then how should I try thunderbolt approach?!

Is it nessesery to use 400 wat psu for 1060?! Cause gtx 1060 uses 300 wat on load.

buying exp gdc is waste of money If I can succeed by riser. Right?!

IIRC exp does psu powerup on it's own like a motherboard. Depends if you want to flip a switch everytime you boot up a laptop. If you're limited with mpcie then 1060 tops out it's gaming performance IMO. But only if you have a processor to back it up. If you had thunderbold compatible laptop, 1070 would be better ofc. Wattage wise you'd never want to run a psu at 100%. Try looking up your gpu power consumption under load. And add at least 10-20%?

Thank you.

should I follow MBR windows approach or UEFI?! I tried EUFI and ran into problem, my boot stuck on loading and had to reinstall windows.

The second thing is I used gtx 970 with 550wat power and used UDD to uninstall gt740m gpu, then disabled AMD HD4000 gpu in control panel. After installing latest driver of gtx 970, I ran the “error 43 fixer.exe” on the website and it says error 12 and 43.

what comes to my mind is

1- white bios still is the problem (the thinkpad EUFI premade file I downloaded is not compatible)

2- hot plug of gpu is not recognized by pc.

would you please record a video of doing EUFI approach cause I don’t have money to buy MBR app that is linked.

thank you

Now it's trial and error. I can't give you advice on your config. Try looking into my troubleshooting section or someone's who did raiser setup.

Cheers.

I get this error message:
dsdt-modified.asl:

1844: Return(AR00())
^***
dsdt-modified.asl(1844): error: AR00 is not a method
How to fix it?

this is dsl-modified:

please help me. Thank you

Btw, you uploaded intel approach .dsl which you mentioned is for devices except lenovo.

since, E531 is 2nd to 4th gen of intel then please upload microsoft approach. thank you

Is your uploaded file enough to go to step 2 without creating my own .dsl?

if so, then in UEFI approach how can I reboot via clover?

The config file is different for every model.

I did this 2 years ago. And I don't have that laptop anymore. Not a programmer but from what I can tell it's a syntax error. Try cleaning up that.

Thank you.

finally I could succeed and large memory appeared.!!!! Great

now I have 2 more questions.

1- Laptop has m.2 Mkey, so are we able to find adaptor  for M key female  to USB male and try with that port?! I think m.2 port has higher bandwidth and since you mentioned pcie port has limitation, I think that port can be useful and gtx 1070 or 1080 might fit that port.

2- is there a way to not unplugging usb from riser when turning laptop on?!

because when laptop is connected to riser and I turn it on, black screen happens and even do not go to bios setting unless I unplug riser gpu and let windows boot up.

Thank you.

IIRC e531 has a whitelist of devices. So it might be rejecting gpu.

Sleep > wake up> Check for hardware changes initializes eGPU.

You want to mod bios or ask someone to do it. Bios-mods had a section for requests.
