Can run most games at max/ultra settings with no problem.
@scensory, Can I ask how you are getting this to work?
I have the same MacOS Catalina 10.15.5, thunderbolt 2 cable and thunderbolt 2/3 adaptor. I also used the same link that you did and am since updating to Catalina 10.15.5 the efi boot doesn't work anymore.

.Hi I also have the same specs.
I will be running Catalina OS 10.15.5, did either of you figure out the efi boot issue?
Would this eGPU set up lead to massive improvements to speed in lightroom and photoshop?

.@matthew_henderson, I didn’t do anything special to get it to work. Just followed the instructions posted by goalque. I did check and I am running OS 10.15.5. I have heard that people are having issues with 10.15.6, so I have not updated to that yet. Have you gotten it to work at all? Working in Windows?
@johnj88, I haven’t had any issues running on OS 10.15.5. I have heard that people are having issues with 10.15.6, so I haven’t updated to that yet. As far as speed improvements, yes I would expect you would see improved speed based on the GPU you run. If you’re like me and have integrated graphics (Intel Iris on-board), you should see a pretty substantial increase with anything graphics intensive.
@scensory, Awesome, thanks! Also, could you keep us updated when and if you upgrade to 10.5.6?
May purchase this set-up soon.
