For OSX followed instructions in:  https://egpu.io/forums/builds/2014-mbp-w-750m-akitio-node-w-980-ti-mac_editor/#post-5286
OSX working 🙂
Works with monitors on both eGPU and mac-mini HDMI

Implementation on Windows 10 1607 (Anniversary Edition):

  • Fresh install of Win10 1607
  • Use two screens, main connected to eGPU, secondary to Mac HDMI
  • Boot into bootcamp with thunderbolt disconnected
  • Login and Wait for Win10 to complete all the startup stuff
  • Hotplug thunderbolt
  • eGPU Nvidia 980ti comes on-line

  • Booting/rebooting win10 with thunderbolt connected will cause boot to fail
  • Having Intel thunderbolt software installed will cause win10 to crash on hotplug

This seems to work most of the time 🙂

@firemanhead, use this thunderbolt 3 driver:  https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26052/NUCs-Thunderbolt-Driver-for-Intel-NUC-Kit-NUC6i7KYK as used successfully to update the Node firmware here.
