Installation steps

I was on macOS Mojave 10.14.1 and had to downgrade to macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 in order to get this setup working. Then after I just used Mac-Editor's purge-wrangler and it worked.

For Windows, I used DDU to uninstall the M370X's driver, then I shutted the MacBook down, plug the eGPU in, turn the MacBook on while holding Option and get into Windows, installed the latest driver for GTX 1060 and voilà. No error 12, no DSDT modification. Simple as that.

Benchmarks
Unigine Valley Benchmark, 1080p, high settings, no AA:
On macOS: 73.3 FPS, score 3068
On Windows: 97.2 FPS, score 4066

Some games that I'm currently playing on Windows:
PUBG ultra, 50-60 fps
Batman Arkham Knight ultra, 60 fps
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on Cemu with 1080p graphic pack: 30 fps

Overall, I'm really happy with this setup. Getting it to work was fairly easy and games and my Adobe renders also gets a massive boost.

Hi- I have a very similar laptop and considering the same basic build.

Does any part of the Final Cut Pro X workflow get a boost do you know?

So you had to downgrade from Mojave to get this to work?
Is that due to the GTX 1060?

I really don't want to downgrade my macOS install

Thanks for your thoughts.

HELLO, I HAVE THE SAME MACOBOOK PRO RETINA , 2O15 MPB INCH WITH THE AMD R9 M370X.
I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE THE SAME BUILT FOR 3D VISUALIZATION AND LIVE RENDERING, FOR MACOS AND WIN10 BUT I HAVE SOME QUESTIONS ABOUT.
MY MACOS IS 10.13.6 HIGH SIERA,
THE GRAPHIC CARD YOU HAVE IN YOUR EGPU IS "PNY GTX 1060 6GB DUAL FUN"
I FOUND TWO GRAPHIC CARDS
BUT I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHICH IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THEM...GEFORCE GTX 1060 6GB
1st.     VCGGTX1060PB.  (PNY)
2nd.   GF1060GTX6GEPB.  (PNY)
THERE ARE A LOT OF GTX 1060 6GB APART FOR (PNY)  WICH IS THE METHOD OF CHOICE

ANOTHER QUESTION I WOULD LIKE  TO KNOW IS IF CAN I WORK WITH THE INTERNAL DISPLAY ( MBP DISPLAY) OR I SHOULD ORDER AN EXTERNAL DISPLAY.

THE EXTERNAL DISPLAY I FOUND IS     Philips 4K 272P7VPTKEB 27 inch.  (4K UHD (3840 x 2160) resolution
DO YOU KNOW IF THERE IS ANY PROBLEM WITH 4K MONITORS

THANK YOU FOR YOUR GUIDE!
