PC: 2016 14" Razer Blade (GTX 1060/i7-6700HQ)
eGPU: AKiTiO Node (Thunderbolt 3)
GPU: ASUS ROG STRIX-GTX1080-A8G-GAMING
The AKiTiO Node was plug and play with the 2016 Razer Blade. I upgraded the eGPU firmware before I received the graphics card, so I don't have before and after unfortunately... I did see quite a bit of improvement over the built-in GTX 1060 at both 1080p and 1440p:
These benchmarks were taken using an external monitor.

That looks really good, have you tried running Firestrike benchmark too?
Intel Nuc Skull Canyon
Akitio Node
Gigabyte gtx 1080
I will run them at some point this week when I get a minute. I was getting ~9400 with the built-in GTX 1060 in my Blade. The physics score with the i7-6700HQ brings down the Fire Strike score quite a bit. I haven't seen that translate to in game with the 1080 though...

Alright, you alleviated some concern I had before opening the package 🙂

Here are the Fire Strike and Time Spy results:
Note that the CPU score brings the overall number down quite a bit. I got almost double the graphics score on Time Spy with the 1080 (6745) than I got with the 1060 (3472). I got around 6500 points higher on the Fire Strike graphics score using the 1080 vs the 1060. Overall I would say I'm happy with the performance of the 1080 and Node. For 1440p gaming I've noticed a large increase in FPS with the 1080.

Great setup 🙂 Can you run the eGPU on your Internal Display and to run Heaven again with the same settings ?

Were you able to get the internal display to work with Optimus? I can't seem to get Optimus to choose the eGPU over the dGPU (1060).

Hi there. Do you know if the Razer Blade has the TB3 controller wired direct to the CPU. Or is it attached to the PCH like most other laptops?
This information, (the internal pci-e wiring) can usually be seen in HWInfo64.exe or similar programs. Many thanks.
