System specs

Screen size: Dell UltraSharp 34 Curved U3419W

CPU: 7th Generation Intel Core i7-7600U (Dual Core, 2.80Gz, 4MB cache)

iGPU: Intel HD Graphics 620

OS: W10

eGPU hardware

eGPU: Razer Core X Chroma

Card: Zotac gaming Geforce RTX 3080 Trinity OC 10GB 320BIT GDDR6X

Installation steps

Installation went pretty easy as is mentioned in other posts here. Simply plug in eGPU module into TB3 socket - Razer Synapse (Was installed before) instantly adds this device into system.

After that nvidia drivers must be installed manually.

System notification says eGPU might not work properly during this operation, but everything works fine.

Only problem is that network socket on Razer Core X Chroma stops working when i put a load on the video card.

Also there was a problem with laptop processor colling system - had to install cooling pad, which solved FPS drops.

Gaming LoL - from low details to full

Workflow - eGPU is a must for big data operations, untill now i had to use cloud services (Example benchmark - wpa2 hashcracking goes from 3,5 hours (CPU)  to 14s (GPU)), also system runs more smoothly with such a big display.

Some says it is better to use external monitor plugged right in the eGPU so you dont send data back into laptop (More bandwidth left for GPU).

Dell hotline said it will never work...

@cardoelle, thank you for your build. Would you like to include some photos so we can see your eGPU in action?
