Based on my iMac build.

IMG 0748

iMac and the monitor, with Vive COSMOS elite(upper) and the eGPU(middle) in the ikea roskog.

I bought OMEN 17 notebook for gaming, so this Mac build is just a test. I will upload my OMEN build later.

[GPU]

ASUS RTX3080 010G gaming

[Installation]

Disable auto driver install and update, DDU the driver and plug the eGPU after desktop screen appears and install the latest driver manually. That worked.

I don't use Razer synapse software. I use the 1m cablematters active cable.

[benchmark]

timespy external monitor GPU 14884 CPU 5064 ALL 11530

timespy internal monitor(loopback mode) GPU 12099 CPU 5086 ALL 10025 (sorry for missing link)

I have the identical iMac and Razer Core X with RTX 2070 Super, with Windows 10 2004 latest updates. Works perfectly and it was 100% plug ‘n play installation, no messing with drivers. My question is, if I upgrade to 3080, will it work just as well without any hiccups? In your opinion.

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.
