CSGO, 1600x1400 with gpu scaling to 2560x1440.
Antialising 8x, Antistropic 16x, everything else to low
Fluctuating between 150 and 300 fps (capped to 300).
235 fps average
Guildwars 2, 2560x1440 everything to max: 15-30 fps in Lion's Arch.
The egpu have greatly improved my CSGO experience.
It was mostly unplayable with the embedded Radeon 560.
It caused the whole Mac to become always hot and CPU constently trothing.
Big FPS drops in action, firing with AK.
Now I get higher FPS and the average is much more stable.
I am a bit disappointed I can not run Guildwars 2 everything high in QHD resolution.
The Asus TUF rx 5600 xt fans make too much noise on MacOs during desktop usage (emails, web, documents..)
Hi, I have almost the same specs as you. I just got an Oddessy G9 (LC49G97TSSNXDC) without checking the compatibility.... So I'm also looking into this egpu thing right now and I have a lot of questions.
do you know about FreeSync Premium Pro? does the egpu inherently just carry that? because I can't find much resources on like finding out compatible monitors with Radeon egpu's. I really don't wanna just return this monitor because of stupid compatibility issues...
@zedtosh123, Hi, I am curious about what you are telling " Oddessy G9 (LC49G97TSSNXDC) without checking the compatibility.." What kind of compatibility issue?
I had the Samsung G7 connected directly to my Mac (no egpu) via DP to usb-c and the image was horrible. Texts were verry blurry, gaming caused eyes strain. I ordered a second G7 to be sure and the image was still horrible. I returned both and bought Asus TUF VG27AQL1A. I am still wondering if this screen would have a great image connected to a real gpu....
To answear to your question: I don't know FreeSync Premium Pro.
I also returned the Razer and made a Gaming PC.
Freesync was working fine.
