System specs:

Apple MacBook Pro 15" (2018) running macOS Catalina 10.15.7 / Bootcamp Windows 10 version 2004 build 19041.685
Intel Core i7-8850H 2.6 GHz with up to 4.3 GHz Turbo Boost (6C/12T)
Radeon Pro 560X
16 GB RAM (2666 MHz)
512 GB SSD (M2)

eGPU hardware:

Razer Core X
ASUS TUF Radeon RX 5600 XT OC edition 6GB EVO
Asus TUF 27" VG27AQL1A 2560x1440 @ 170Hz (displayport)
TB3 cable included by Razer

Installation steps:

- Windows

Uninstall drivers with DDU in safe mode.
Install latest drivers https://www.bootcampdrivers.com
Connect eGPU only on front right or left thunderbolt ports or I get error 12.

- MacOs

Have to hot plut egpu after login.
Otherwise startup hang.
Same for shutdown/reboot, I have to disconnect it before.

Macos: Unigine Heaven 4 (1680x1050, Medium, 8x AA): 118 FPS / 2979 Score
Windows: Unigine Heaven 4 (1680x1050, Medium, 8x AA): 128 FPS / 3229 Score

CSGO, 1600x1400 with gpu scaling to 2560x1440.
Antialising 8x, Antistropic 16x, everything else to low
Fluctuating between 150 and 300 fps (capped to 300).
Benchmark: https://www.hltv.org/blog/11862/one-of-the-best-method-to-check-your-fps-in-csgo-new
235 fps average

Guildwars 2, 2560x1440 everything to max: 15-30 fps in Lion's Arch.

- positive

The egpu have greatly improved my CSGO experience.
It was mostly unplayable with the embedded Radeon 560.
It caused the whole Mac to become always hot and CPU constently trothing.
Big FPS drops in action, firing with AK.
Now I get higher FPS and the average is much more stable.

- negative

I am a bit disappointed I can not run Guildwars 2 everything high in QHD resolution.
The Asus TUF rx 5600 xt fans make too much noise on MacOs during desktop usage (emails, web, documents..)
