After using eGPUs for two years I've learned to live with the extra care required by eGPUs. I find that I need to reinstall NVIDIA graphics drivers anytime there significant changes to my system in order to maintain stability. Graphics drivers need to be loaded after a Windows update for example. When I travel, I game on the laptop dGPU, but when I do, I always reload drivers before I begin gaming. Same thing applies when I return home and connect the eGPU - reload graphics drivers. This prevents any issues that I've encountered in the past.

I recommend against turning off your laptop display when using eGPU. Something funky happens with the system and causes odd display issue (Windows appears to run as if the display were ~ 30Hz refresh rate). It can be temporarily resolved by reinstalling NVIDIA drivers but comes back the next time you boot up your system with the eGPU. Leaving the laptop display on, even as secondary display and the issue will not present itself.

There’s something holding your 8750H CPU performance, maybe you processors state on 99%?
I find also actually there’s something wrong with graphics score on Razer Blade that is very low compared to my previous Blade 14 2017 that already low compared to Blade stealth in graphics score. Here’s the firestrike comparison
Blade 15+Core v2 1080ti

Blade 14 2017+ Core v2 1080ti

Blade stealth 2016+Core v2 1080ti

I think mobo on Blade or gaming laptop has different architecture or bandwidth than ultrabook in term TB3 connection, idk quite sure though, hope I’m wrong and it could be addressed by software.

About reinstalling graphics driver, I had similar issue last week, and solved by updating  both when connected with enclosure and without to same version, I found at first time I got the Blade 15 last Thursday, after disconnecting it I had to reinstall driver for dgpu again to get it detected, never experienced it on previous setting though.

This was in "Balanced Mode" in Razer Synapse software.  I didn't learn until later, that this does not allow the full power to the CPU as "Gaming Mode" does. I actually don't prefer gaming mode as I like the quiet gaming. I will rerun the benchmarks for completeness though.

Do you have a benchmark for your laptop without the eGPU? Curious what the 1070 vs. eGPU 1080ti is like.
