Fingers crossed. Hope I'm on the right path.
Looking forward to seeing this build get updated and benchmarked. I have a NUC8i5BEH that I want to integrate into my eGPU setup and am interested to see how yours turns out.
@boltoway, It feels like it's taking forever. GPU should have been here days ago. It's in limbo with USPS. Then I keep getting distracted since this was just supposed to be a decent daily PC. Factored in value. Then it just turned into I kept getting deals. Found this place and the impulsive buying took over. I've built PCs before but this eGPU stuff is new to me. Guess we'll see how it goes.
Ever monitor your temps on the NUC?
@noveske, I hope it works out for you.
My NUC8I5BEH when running the Intel XTU stress test will peak at 83°C.
GPU finally showed up. USPS had it in limbo for about a week. No reason why. Got everything up and running. I disabled iGPU.
Only issue I'm having is the sounds on the headset cuts out randomly and doesn't kick back on. Then I have to exit and mess with the settings in GHub and Windows to get it to work. Can't figure out what exactly is causing/fixing it. But it never works for long. Will run a few more bench tests.
