System specs:
3.2GHz i7-8700B
16GB 2667MHz DDR4 RAM
512GB SSD
Intel 630
1GbE Ethernet
macOS 10.14.2 & Windows 10 1809
eGPU hardware:
Razer Core X
Asus Expedition RX 570 4GB OC
Installation steps:
macOS: Just plug and play
Boot Camp:
Install Windows 10 1809 as normal
Plug in eGPU to right-most TB3 port (nearest to HDMI port)
Install Radeon drivers
Make sure two displays are connected - one to built-in HDMI and one to the GPU's HDMI, so that at least one screen will work.
Identify display running off built-in HDMI and disable it (show only on display connected to eGPU. For some reason after installing the Radeon drivers, if displays were either mirrored or extended, the display connected to the built-in HDMI would always remain blank while the display connected to the eGPU remained in extended mode (so opening any windows would be rendered on the blank first display). I had to cycle through Windows key + P blindly until it went into mirrored mode/show on projector/external display only so that the display connected to the eGPU would show things properly.
I didn't have to disable any ports - no error 12 whatsoever. Not having the 10GbE Ethernet option probably helped too.

@yjchua Thank you for sharing a nice build! Connecting the eGPU to monitor directly is the best performing route.

That was exactly what I did, but because it only showed the extended desktop, I had to plug a display into the built in HDMI port and disable that first so that the display driven by the eGPU would become the sole display haha
@itsage could you add this thing to build guides?

I'm getting ~850 on RX 580, what the hell. Could undervolting a card result in a performance drop?
It' Heaven Extreme, isn't it? What OS? Mac or Windows? External or internal display?
