System specs

2019 14" Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon G7

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8265U CPU @ 1.60GHz, 1800 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)

eGPU hardware

AKiTiO Node Pro

Zotac RTX 2070 Super Twin Fan

Dell Alienware Monitor AW3420DW

Hardware pictures

N/A due to lack of posts

Installation steps

Pretty much plug and play but had to Power Options > PCI Express > Link State Power Management > On battery: Off + Plugged in: Off

My battery and motherboard had to be changed and after that the eGPU was not detected. The fix for this was to enable Thunderbolt 3 in the BIOS.

Benchmarks

Unigine Heaven score of 2453 with the eGPU (139 without the eGPU)

Hey there, thanks for your build post! I have the same laptop and am looking at the Akitio Node Pro as well, have you found any issues with the thunderbolt power delivery being only 60w compared to the 65w of the charger?

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.
