Very nice! That Superposition 4K Optimized is about 3x my 2070, lol.
I'm hoping I can pretty much have very game hit 60FPS on Ultra (or at least only having to turn down only some settings that are just clearly for overkill GPU torture like "Can it run Crysis?" or for instance Doom Eternal ULTRA MOFO TEXTURE SIZE LOL 8GB CARDS KNEEL BEFORE IT) at my laptop's native 1600p. There's a selection of games that are already there on the 2070, I'm sure the 3080 will put a lot or nearly all of them in that space for the next year or two.
Now we just need LG to put Tiger Lake into the 2021 Gram 17....
there still has to come forza 5: D
It looks like you have vsync turned on, you should switch that off when you do benchmarks runs.
@nando4, I would like internal not to be optional, I don't use an external monitor, I'm probably not alone not having really room for one.
Can you confirm if the latest public TimeSpy and Firestrike tests are from an external monitor? Can you run a TimeSpy Extreme and a Port Royal test? Thank you!
@odin, the FPS loss below 150 is not noteworthy / similarly playable.
Ahh right you are now that I analyze the graphs, I mistranslated the "Target" and "Reached" at the bottom left and thought you were stuck at 60 🙂 I've just gotten into the habit of turning it off when I do benchmark runs, I have it turned on while I'm actually playing a game 99% of the time unless I don't see tearing.
I haven't had it run on an external display yet but I for the life of me cannot get it working well on the Internal display. If I plug in after windows is running I get a code 31 Error on my iGPU (1080 MaxQ) and need to reinstall the drivers which kicks the eGPU card out. // Going to add here I can run Heaven benchmark and get it to recognise the eGPU but it only runs at ~600mhz, only way I could push it higher was to use the MSI afterburner overclock test
If I leave the eGPU plugged in on boot I get a black screen and no display
I think my issue is the GeForce drivers can't be installed for both cards at once as I've tested a 1080Ti in the housing also.
Any more clarification on the driver and windows version and why you had to roll windows back a version to make it work?
I have: Nvidia driver installed (previously I had an 8 year old Gigabyte AMD HD 7950) Rise of Tomb Raider benchmark run Blue screen 2-3 times then Dell automatically started the hardware test and said the memory was defective 2-3 times blue screen before Windows started Dell Biosscreen needed longer and then my PC was restored by a two weeks / last Windows version Trottelstop reconfigured with more tension until Tombraider was stable
have you already updated all Intel drivers and important Thunderbolt? Bios update could also help with TB? I have no problems with plugging in and unplugging, it always goes hot
I tested Forza internally for you in HD and EXTREME (all Right) settings:
I don't have enough RAM (8GB) in my laptop for more resolution ... so all with external 2k - take 4k laptop with 16GB RAM
@w7_basel , pls disable vsync/60Hz FPS limit. Then do Forza 4 FHD benchmarks on external and internal LCD. Can compare against GTX 1080 Ti results in my sig which also shows settings used. Would like to see your Firestrike results to compare against.
A table of your benchmark results has been added to your opening post.
