So the GPU doesnt fit the enclosure? Is there any AIB that would fit the biggest razer eGPU?

MacOS: 15" Retina Macbook Pro 2015 Iris Pro only
Windows 10: Tornado F5 laptop with discrete GTX 1060
eGPU: GIGABYTE RX 580

@dream3, sorry but my translator is not good; AIB? The card fits into the housing!

AIB means cards that are not manufactured by NVIDIA, so anything but the Founders Edition of the cards. Great it fits!

I gotta pick between the Core X Black and Chroma, should the 650W PSU be enough for a 3080? Im guessing yes since it's 650W exclusively to the card?

@dream3, Ich denke es reicht gut; beachte das dein Laptop mit 100 Watt geladen werden kann was die Netzteilteil-Leistung um das reduziert...

@w7_basel, how are the temperatures of your rtx 3080?
Before buying my zotac 2080 ti, I ordered a gigabyte 2080 ti, but the temperatures reached over 87 ° in a few minutes of use and I returned it.
If you confirm that the temperatures and fan noise are good, I'll buy your card too 🙂

Sorry that I was only able to answer you now;
I have not noticed any significant loss of performance ...
However, this was probably due to the good cooling of the 3080 and not to the somewhat less than ideal Razer. I have already sold my card because I have the option of a 3090 founders edition, so I can no longer report temperatures to you, but I always had a stable benchmark which suggests that the card stayed nice and cool with a slightly increased fan. Because in many tests it can be inferred that the card starts to throttle back at relatively low temperatures. <80 C ° seems to be the limit of the firmware; which of course nothing can be compared with the operating conditions of a 2080.
I hope this helps you?

@w7_basel, thank you for answering me.
The gigabyte 2080 ti was a disaster for me! I'm glad the 3080 gigabyte is reliable.
I am very undecided between 3090 and 3080, but I have read that in 4k the 3090 is only 10-15% faster than a 3080, and for the difference in price, I don't think it's worth it.
But does the 3090 fe fit into core x?
For the dimensions I have seen that a zotac 3090 enters, of the fe I have no info.

No, it's not the added value, but I think with the new consoles and large amounts of memory, the 10 gigabits will soon be used up; so 3090 more future-proof ...
I almost sell my 3080 for the price of the 3090 so the moderate additional price justifies me for future security. I will try to install the 3090 FE with a photo but bought a small PC where the 3090 is already integrated and I can go on the hunt for 8k 😀

my XPS 13 can't handle it via TB3 and we degrade again for office work

@w7_basel, in an egpu use, do you suggest the 3080, or the 3090? I have the imac in signature with i9
