@cuppino

I hope you don't do it 1 to 1;
but I have the feeling that with an eGPU and slow CPU with a 3070 you are very good with FullHD (internal display) ...
with a better (more TDP) CPU like yours where an i9 doesn’t have to be 6 cores ok but look that the clock goes up with TrottelStop a 3080 in 4k (external display) works great ...
But if you buy a 3090 (extra money) you should go away from an eGPU because you lose the expensive 15% you bought for a 3080 and are still -15% -15% ....
I decided not to buy a new laptop in favor of performance.
Unfortunately I don't know anything about IMAC, but you seem to know that bootcamp is going well based on your build?

yes, in bootcamp nvidia cards work very well and very simply.
You don't need to do any particular procedure.
With my 2080 I found you very well.
My cpu is i9 with 8 cores.
If I can sell my 2080 ti well, the gigabyte 3090 appeals to me a lot. In size it is identical to the 3080 (of the gigabyte).

iMac 27" 5k 2019 (i9 9900k 3,6ghz, 40gb ram ddr4 2666 mhz, ssd 1tb, dgpu Radeon pro vega 48 8gb), Egpu: Razer Core X with ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3090 Trinity

I am not sure if I may have asked you this question before. How did you achieve the undervolt of your CPU? Which application did you use?

  • Intel i7-8565U (-0.0996 Voltage)

Setup: Dell Latitude 7300 | i7-8665U | 32GB DDR4 | M2.sata 512GB |
iGPU: UHD 620 | eGPU: Nvidia RTX 3070 FE | Asus XG Station Pro | Thunderbolt 3 (15D9) : NVM 44.00

Hi w7 - would you recommend undervolting to push lower temperatures across the cpu? Trying to optimise performance on my early 2020 XPS 13...

@w7_basel, Do you think the Nvidia Founders Edition 3080 will fit? Because I'm thinking of getting either the RTX 3080 FE or the MSI Ventus OC for my Razer Core X.
