Might this be problematic
Pretty good chance it will be.
Is it possible to enable a different TB3 port
I've tried this, but was ultimately unsuccessful. Since I no longer own the eGPU, I can do no further testing.

@andygev35, do you think "auto download and notify for install" might be a better option?
To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.

@andygev35, hi there, did you try Big Sur? Is it working?

@tsakal, I no longer have the eGPU. I’ve decided that since eGPU support is reportedly going away on ASi Macs, I am now using Shadow for gaming. It’s basically a full Windows computer with a Quadro P5000 (GTX 1080 equivalent) and 512GB storage for $15 per month. For the games that I play, it’s all I really need...

Thanks @andygev35 for the well documented steps. I managed to set everything up with my 2020 13'' MacBook Pro 13 2,3 GHz Intel Core i7 4 Core(1068NG7) Ice Lake (10th Gen) with 32GB RAM.
Interesting here is i have around 10 FPS less compared to your benchmarks with my 8GB Asus Radeon RX Vega 56 ROG Strix OC + Sonnet Breakaway Box 550 setup 😕 And its 5% -10% less then my previous setup with a 2017 15'' MacBook Pro with i7 as well the same egpu setup. Might be related to the drivers (also used adrenaline)
Small remark: i had to enable the Windows Update again to allow even installing local update OS Build 18362.295 downloaded from the mentioned link. Otherwise it was telling me service not available. JFYI instead of gpedit.msc using service.msc allows easier management of Windows Update, also shutting down/booting up the service immediately without reboot.

@benjamin_benson, If you're running Radeon drivers newer than 20.4.2, the eGPU performance may be lower.

@benjamin_benson, Have similar setup and used the same guide. I am still staying with 20.4.2 anyway from what I read only the latest 20.11.2 is as stable as the 4.2 especially in regards to free sync. In my case never had to update windows. Everything works fine even my MacBook screen is working.
@itsage, sorry to bother you again. I have a Win 10 2004 bootcamp working 100% even my MacBook screen works fine I get an alert to update the apple bootcamp software, what is your thoughts should I skip it?
Best

@tsakal, Stay at the 2004 version that works without error 12. You can do a restore point and try a newer version but it's not worth it imo.

@itsage, thank you and Happy Thanksgiving.
There is no way I updating windows and I am not sure about Big Sur neither. It does not have any features to convince me.
However, my question is about the apple software update within windows.
