@raebyagthefirst, Have you tried running Microsoft Simulator 2020 on it? If not, how well do you think it will perform? I have an 16 inch 5300m 4gb and was hoping for an upgrade for my gpu to play the game

@alex_kang, nope, haven't tried. But I think on this forum I saw some other folks running it on a similar system.

@raebyagthefirst very nice setup! I already have almost the same setup running with build 1909 and it works fine. Started with a clean setup like in other posts with pci.sys etc. and stopped all win updates. no l/r/l switching needed, just plug off while win logo at start appears and the plug in after bootprocess is complete.

Now i want to upgrade to build 2004 because i got a VR Setup with htc cosmos and i really often get crashes when playing half live alyx. Could you tell me al little more details about your setup?

- did you upgrade from 1903/09 oder a clean install?

- which driver fom bootcampdrivers do you use? red or blue, jan, apr, aug, oct or nov? 😉 The april driver is specially mentioned for macbook 16". actually i have the 19.50.22.10 installed

thx for help

@simooa, thanks. Initially I installed win 1903, but didn't apply pcy.sys hack. I then just upgraded to the most recent 2004 and everything worked fine, I'm keep updating in to the recent versions. Right now I'm using Oct bootcampdrivers

Worth to mention, I haven't updated mac to big sur

@raebyagthefirst, are you on Win10 2004 or 20H2? What is your start up / connection routine is? IE, do you need to do any port-dance during start-up?

Hey together,

short update from me regarding eGPU under Windows 10 on a Mac with macOS Big Sur installed: It works flawlessly as mentioned in the first post.

I'm on Windows 10 v2004 (Build 19041.685) on BootCamp and macOS Big Sur 11.0.1 (Build 20B29). I've BootCamp Drivers April Edition optimized for 16" MacBook Pro installed.

It's running also great Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 on an Dell U2719DC (2560x1440) with custom settings with around 30 FPS.

In the next few days I will test 20H2 update.

@raebyagthefirst, great setup.  I can see your  heaven benchmark scores, and i'm thinking that my 780ti egpu performance with TB2 is not that bad at all, if you think that it can achieve 72 fps on heaven extreme preset.  Performance difference should have been bigger between 780ti and 5700xt. it seems to me that newer cards don' t perform well on egpus, tb3 has become a serious bottleneck. I can't even imagine the performance hit that amd 6xxx and nvidia 3xxx series will have.
