The external screen does not yield higher performance than the internal one. I will test it with another screen later
@gerd_fuafsljfe, If the drivers are well optimized, external monitor and loopback performance should be very similar. Nothing is of concerns.
i just wanted to let everyone stumbling across this thread know that I can wholeheartedly recommend this notebook for eGPU usage.
The performance is similar to the Razer Blade Stealth. I undervolted it by 50mV and got the following results running Cinebench R20 in a loop for 33 minutes:

Checking with the Intel Power Gadget the S740 is able to sustain 3.0 GHz per Core and 28W Power throughout the test.
Also the build is fantastic.
The only two issues are:
- IO is very sparse (loading, thunderbolt, headset and two usb-a). So you will most likely need some kind of adapter.
- The screen is not matte, which could be an issue in bright environments. But I still love the monitor because it is very bright (Brighter than any other of the laptops in my builds).
