@ivan_loo, there are TWO 1903-19H1 builds.  Make sure you're using build number 18362.30 and NOT 18362.356, otherwise it won't work.

2020 MacBook Pro, i5-1038NG7, 16GB RAM, 1TB
Razer Core X
Sapphire Pulse RX 5700 XT Dual BIOS

2020 13" MacBook Pro [10th,4C,G] + RX Vega 56 @ 32Gbps-TB3 (Razer Core X) + macOS 10.15.4 & Win10 [build link]

@andygev35, yup, I've been using the right version. Just wanted to double check on that. I'll report back after i have another go at this.

Successful Build: MBP 2018 with Razer Core X Chroma + nVidia 2080 Super.
Currently attempting: MBA 2020 Core i7 with Razer Core X Chroma + nVidia 20280 Super (Stuck with Error 12)

@andygev35, yup okay. I followed the steps, but no dice.

I skipped gpedit.msc (as I don't have Windows Pro). Is there an alternative to the gpedit.msc step?

There's an easy write-up of disabling Windows Update using the registry HERE.

Hello andygev35. Thank you 🙏. I was following all instruction and now I’m stuck with looking for the “PCI express root port”. I don’t have that one on the list. Pls help

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.

@palphotography, please post a screen shot of your device manager.  Be sure to view by connection type.

@andygev35, sadly. no dice from my side with my build.

After following all your steps (with the exception of downloading and installing green drivers), this is still the result:

{C7BACBDE 6A26 4191 9BD0 F32D1212BD52}.png

I'll update my post to include a guide to yours as it does work for some folks.

For now, I think it will be useful to layout the significant difference between my attempt and your build:

1. My MBA is the i7 Variant

2. I get a BSOD (KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE) when I hotplug the egpu in. Disabling the Network Adaptor will prevent this.

3. I have 1tb SSD: I don't think this is a significant difference, unless somehow the ssd uses up more PCIE lanes.

4. I have 16gb ram: I don't think this matters, as I ram does not use PCIE lanes.

5. Razer Core X Chroma uses more PCIE bandwidth due to support for LAN passthrough also a USB hub.

Potential next steps:

Disable devices that uses PCIE. I have tried disabling HID Sensors, TouchPad, Bluetooth. No success despite that.

I think that’s the difference that matters.  Mine is the i5 variant.

i7 Model with AMD here, it works.

As mentioned in my post I got it to work with your guide, thanks a lot @andygev35!

MacBook Air 2020, i7, 16gb memory, 256gb ssd

Radeon XT 5700

Razer Core X (I will have a Chroma on monday and try with it as well)

What did the trick for me was to use DDU for both nvidia and AMD drivers.

So, there is hope @ivan_loo. Maybe you can try with windows 10 pro? You do not need a license to test it. Also make sure to use the right windows 10 version

Thank you!

@t5n, great to hear that. I'll try again with win pro and see whether it works

I have the same MacBook variant, just ordered the 560 puck and will be here in couple days. I’ll follow these steps as you posted and I’ll post my results. I will NOT be using an external monitor, is there any extra steps I will need to do? Thank you.
