Hey guys good night, So I came to post about installation and experience with egpu.
Sorry for my bad english !!!
Notebook model: Acer Aspire 3 A315-41 R4RB, Ryzen 5 2500u, vega 8 1gb graphics, 16gb ddr4 ram.
Egpu model: EXP GDC 9.0 (m key)
Graphics: GTX 960 2gbs
Lets go to what matters!
Egpu does not start on my notebook model is on the screen of the acer logo and does not come out for anything.
After that I had to make a startup jumper so that egpu works automatically without needing the notebook to turn it on ".
I had to start the notebook with the egpu off, put it to suspend / hibernate, turn on the egpu and then click on any key to exit the suspend / hibernate, right after this procedure the gtx 960 appeared.
After the above step I had to do a DSDT override procedure to correct a code 12 error that gave on the GTX 960 board, a little complex procedure but nothing too difficult to do, if someone has the code 12
After that, just turn on the notebook with the egpu off, put it to suspend / hibernate, then I turned on the egpu with the computer in sleep / hibernate "OBS: Do not forget that you have to make a boot jumper so that as soon as you connect egpu start straight ".
After that the computer will automatically recognize the gtx 960 driver.
Gaming experience.
Albion Online from 90/100 fps went to 155/170 Graphics all low
COD: Warzone from 30 fps to 10 fps "Warzone and poorly optimized for egpu" Graphics all low
Counter Strike Global Offencive 70/80 fps to 100/130 fps Graphics all low
Counter Strike Source from 200 fps to 300 fps all in full hd
I just tested these games because they were the ones I had here on my notebook.
My impressions:
It was good, compared to a middle-of-the-video card, I think it wasn't worth it for me because the game I play the most is COD: Warzone and unfortunately I won't be able to play it, I'll have to build a PC few to be able to play COD: Warzone better.
It is worth a lot for games other than COD: Warzone, for those who want to play other games I believe it will be worth a lot.
maybe with a video card up to a gtx 1080 it can make a really good difference.
Thank you very much Le Castro Santos who helped me with some things in this saga.
Any questions if anyone has and just send a message down here.
Thank you for your build. Would you mind completing the build template including AIDA64 or CUDA-Z bandwidth benchmarks to confirm performance?
