Another Tiger lake build with this time a 13" 2-in-1 device.
I used the same the same eGPU of my main setup :

Installation steps :
Original OEM OS, just updated to Windows 20H2
Hotlug eGPU and install lastest drivers for RTX
> This device is just launch and maybe too pricy but CPU TDP and cooling system are pretty good for this thin form factor : 55+ burst, 36W sustain
> I manage to open the lid and repaste it (painful with 2 screws under rubber pad...)
> Cooling was ok before repaste, with it I just gain little more stability in clock rates, around 3.5Ghz in long run in perf mode

Awesome! I have been looking forward for this laptop to launch, as I'm considering for myself.
How are the thermals? I see that you mention that it doesn't throttle, which is great, but in my use case it would be plugged and on for 16+hours a day. What are your impressions about durability/build quality? How hot does it get at 100% load on AC?
@thegreen, it starts throttling when it passes 36-37w and 94°C+ with Clock rate beeing at 3.5-3.6Ghz
The performance profile rightfully is set to 64W PL2 / 36W PL1 : PL2 can't be maintain more than a few sec and Throttle arround 40W but allows high clock rate for short burst if needed
Balanced profile is 40WPL2 / 28W PL1 : seems perfect for non gaming activites
Silent is like 28W PL2 / 15W PL1.
Of course it's with AC on
On performance mode fans can get loud when CPU temps goes over 80°C but that's expected. Rest of time they settle.
The main concern might be the externals thermals as the device get really hot on the rear side (don't have thermal camera to get more info).
I think this device is not suitable for 10+ hours of full load (as any convertible device) but it can handle more than other 2-in1 I tested.
Build quality is good, not at dell xps and razer levels, but it's a good step up for MSI.
These are some impressive values for PL1, especially considering it's tickness (around 15 mm)! Did you do any more stress tests? I've been trying to find some info about this convertible but somehow there are almost no reviews online. There was a video on YouTube though (around 4:45 min):
The reviewer stated it would throttle to 200 MHz when using the iGPU and CPU at the same time. Did you experince any of this?
@mrcat, the device was pretty stable on all benchmark I ran but I didn't run long stability /stress test.
For me this is a very good convertible (but too pricy), snappy with good burst power, but I would prefer not to do long heavy CPU task on it as thermals get too high.
I return it because off those thermals and fan noise at full speed. I'm quite picky on those points 😐
