Lenovo Legion 5i Pro Gen 6 (16ITH6H)
i7 11800H / 32GB DDR4 / 1To NVMe PCIe Gen4x4
dGPU : RTX 3060 6Gb
- main : Acer Predator XB271HUBMIPRZ (27" WQHD 165Hz IPS)
- secondary : SKILLKORP SKP_E20-27 (27" WQHD 144Hz VA)
OS :Windows 10 21H1
eGPU hardware :
eGPU enclosure : Razer Core X Chroma
TB3 Cable : from Razer bundle
eGPU card : MSI GeForce RTX 3080 VENTUS 3X 10G OC (hardware limited to 320W)

Installation steps :
Hardware : I find out 16Gb stock RAM was single rank R16 DDR4, known to be slow. So i upgraded it to 32Gb dual rank R8:

Upgraded with CRUCIAL 32Gb :
Next steps were simple : original OEM OS, basic windows updates, hotlug eGPU and install lastest drivers for RTX.
No repaste this time as thermal are alrready really good
As undervolt is unlock and Throttlestop working well, I made some adjustment :
- 4.2 all core boost > 4.5 all core
- CPU and cache undervolted @ -0.75mV
As those settings are stable, benchmark are done with it :

I use one for eGPU only an main screen and the other one for HP G5 dock and second external screen
System can be used without main AC adapter with no TB4 eGPU impact, just some CPU limitation when hitting full load.

I really like this laptop and might going to use it as my daily 😉
This device have a 3060 @130W and a mux switch.
As for benchmark :
3060 dGPU on internal display with optimus on :
3060 dGPU Timespy on external display (display ports on TB4 and HDMI are directly connected on dGPU) :
3080 eGPU Timespy to compare :
On usbc 100W, CPU profile auto switch to balanced and 25W PL1 / 45W PL2, so there some limitation but still better than any 4C tiger lake.
Here timespy result with no AC adapter, eGPU on side TB4 and usbc 100W dock on rear TB4 :
Still decent on USB-C.
Can you check if Resizable BAR is supported in the Nvidia settings for the RTX 3080 eGPU on this laptop?
The 3080 may require a VBIOS update if the laptop support it.

In addition, to get rid of the classic stuttering with the duo nvidia DGPU / nvidia eGPU, I use an HDMI dummy on the HP G5 dock to keep dGPU awake and not having to disable it.

On rebirth mode, you get massive frame drops when looking at the middle of the map due to (I think)thunderbolt bandwidth issues. Wondering how an 8 core TB4 setup works instead of my 4 core tiger lake system. Just testing out theories.
