Great post! I just purchased my Station Pro - looking forward to it. I will be buying a 1080ti for it but also trying my reference Sapphire Vega 64 in it (States TDP 295W so we'll see!)

This is great. Please post some benchmarks. Especially the comparison with the Vega 64 is mostly interesting.
I have just got some new benchmark and they show again the power of the 1080Ti. Even with the Ultra setting for my monitor (1440p) on Far Cry 5, it will never drop below 62 FPS.

FarCry5 QHD Ultra
FarCry5 FHD High

Here an interesting Benchmark "UserBenchmark" comparing eGPU and dGPU with other users. It shows that the eGPU performs well, it looks as there was no disadvantage for being external. https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/12763499

Unfortunately I deleted my opening post with the latest step-by-step guide to install bootcamp. It was even easier than ever before and the best of it:

The system is now entirely plug-n-play!
I can (dis)connect, switchon/off, hot/unplug the eGPU whenever I want and it works like charm. Even better: I have just changed the GPU within the enclosure during running windows and there was no need to reboot.

This is really amazing the only thing I don't understand what's different now, because the hardware and software is the exactly the same and it have never been this good.

Impressive results! Especially in Valley.

Can you please take screenshots from CUDA-Z and AIDA64 GPGPU benhmarks? I want to compare with my system, since i have exactly the same eGPU.

I can attach benchmarks for AIDA64 and CUDAZ both Windows and Macosx. I made those benchmarks a couple of months ago:

Thank you, @oliverb! Hm... can't really understand why results in benchmarks higher (Superposition, Valley) when bandwidth is lower... MacBook better CPU (6c/12t)?

Here is my test run in Superposition:
Maximum Performance for CPU
Maximum Performance for GPU
G-SYNC is forced OFF
Meltdown and Spectre is OFF

4962 eGPU GenA Max Performance NTR1 3.7GHz Kapton Mod No Protection
