@chx The 22Gbps cap stays the same but as you could see the H2D improved for Nvidia cards. Prior to Ice Lake hosts, Nvidia eGPUs could only reach 2,2XXMB/s.

@itsage that's very interesting, are you saying they never could do more than what the Alpine Ridge LP allowed?? And that a 20gpbs passive Thunderbolt cables won't limit them?

@chx I don't know the definitive answer but I have never seen Nvidia eGPUs reached over 2,2XXMB/s H2D speed until the recent Ice Lake machines. 20Gbps Thunderbolt 3 cables have the same limits as before. I'm waiting for CES 2020 to see if Lenovo introduces more Thinkpads with Ice Lake before getting one.

What I mean is that if nVidia didn't reach more than 22xx before then any 14nm CPU machine would be fine with a 20gbps cable because they didn't push more than that anyways.

@carmonben,  how will this work with hp Spectre x360 i5 10th gen and 8gb ram

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.

@dhananjay_ghumare,

It would work fine, the lower ram amount might slow the tb3 down as it does use the system ram for some stuff

However I recently ran into several issues

First the USB type a port stopped working

Second every 10 minutes my wifi disconnects

It's rather annoying
