2012 15" MacBook Pro Retina (GT650M) [3rd,4C,Q] + GTX [email protected]>TB3 (ASUS XG Station 2)+Win10 [Andyegoo]
Hello! I want to express my gratitude to the creators of this site, it began my acquaintance with egpu 2 years ago. Separately, Nando for help in setting up.
MSI GTX 1060 6gb OCV single fan
Cable Startech Thunderbolt 2 3m
Windows 10 Pro (MBR)
DIY eGPU Setup 1.35
1.Install windows using the bootcamp assistant.
2.Install DIY eGPU 1.35 with instructions given for a 15" MBP GT650M model
Thereafter, reboot via Setup 1.35->automated startup (default), whenever you require use of your eGPU.
After the latest window updates, to boot from egpu, I just click on the Windows 10 boot menu and everything works fine (there was a black screen before) and I had to select DIY eGPU 1.3 then point 2 after restarting Windows 10
Nvidia company stopped updating drivers mobile Kepler-series GPUs latest version of driver 418.81 the internal screen of the laptop will work with it.
The solution is to disable the gt650m driver installation using the Group Policy Editor.
Device Manager / Video Adapters / GT650M / Properties / Details. After that, I copied the following items:
1. Path to device instance
2.Appropriate device ID
for my laptop these are the following values
In windows search enter gpedit.msc
Computer Configuration>Administrative Templates>System>Device Installation Restriction
Make changes as shown in the photos below.
After that, in safe mode using DDU, uninstall the nvidia drivers and install the latest drivers for your GTX / RTX card in the device manager, you will receive error 43 for the GT650M and you can use your egpu with an external screen.
I think I wrote this topic for ages!)
I offer you performance tests.
Built-in tests in games do not reflect reality, I can play at high settings in 1080p medium and low in 2K time games.
Pending: Add my system information and expected eGPU configuration to my signature to give context to my posts
