Hi Guys,

I want to share my configure of the AMD Vega FE.

In 10.13.2 beta, Vega's driver is all good for most applications, the only problem is the fan speed.

However, the Vega FE in the system still shows as AMD RX xxx 16G.

These following test is testing under internal screen on.

Moreover, if we are using the original PSU(550W), Mantiz Venue will power off when I play around 2mins games (Hero of storms) or I do some heavy rending(Final Cut Pro X).

So I update the PSU to 600W one. It works very good, no any power off problem.

Audio: Audio via DisplayPort shows in sound preference, but these is no sound output via DisplayPort.

Hot plug: Yes, when thunderbolt cable connect, log off and log in can use the eGPU.

That's all I have tested. Thanks for reading.

@Shinra thank you for the implementation guide with the Vega FE. Once Apple releases the iMac Pro, the issues you encounter should be resolved. This is a sweet setup!

Hi, can you confirm that the card is stable in FCP X? Thinking about upgrading to this card.

Thank you for this, so 600W was enough? is it SFX? do you think that maybe upgrading to a 650W SFX would be better? and my final question, do you have to do the login and logout trick, does it work if you boot the MBP with the eGPU connected.

I hope someone here can help.

I have a Macbook Pro late 2014 which has Thunderbolt 2. I can't upgrade my whole system just yet but wanted to get an eGPU setup which I can use on a newer system some time down the line too. My main work is video rendering on Adobe Premiere.

Has anyone got tips or know if this would work:
T3 to T2 adapter
Sonnet breakway box 650w
AMD Vega Frontier Edition Air

Thank you so much in advance!

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.
