coming soon. thx.
Installation steps (what did you do to get it all going?)
clean system with no prior eGPU implementation (nothing to uninstall)
updated MacOS 10.12 to 10.13.6 (note High Sierra is harder to find a direct download from Apple as they push Mojave)
after 10.13 is installed you need to do the incremental updates to 10.13.6
disabled SIP using terminal in recovery mode reboot holding down option+R
Fr34k's MacOS-eGPU.sh script and guide. note: plug in eGPU for first time when it says to in guide.
use ghost monitor plug technique for internal screen acceleration
Asus 1060 6gb OC compute OpenCL score 103740 running on internal screen (with ghost plug) ...RAW about 6 Gpixels/sec
Evga 1070 SC Black compute Open CL score about 132000 running on internal screen... RAW about 9 Gpixels/sec
Evga 1070 Ti SC compute Open CL score 140,400 running on internal screen ... RAW about 11 Gpixels/sec
Comments (eg: how has the eGPU improved your workflow or gaming)
Special thanks to eGPU.io members!
Originally installed with an evga 1050 Ti as it fits in case nicely.
First tried Valley benchmark on medium settings and evga 1050 Ti all in the enclosure. Saw it hit 72 FPS 8 seconds into test and then kernel panic. Probably not enough airflow.
In my few OpenCL benchmarks I haven't seen fans come on. Probably because I haven't hit a certain temperature yet. Is there an software like afterburner for mac so I can set the fan curves?
I will come back and add some photos and other relevant info as soon as I can. I have several cards to test.
