Hi guys, I'm thinking about upgrading my 2013 MBP to a 2018 model. Alongside this upgrade, I'd sell my Windows PC and exchange it for an eGPU. I've been looking at the Blackmagic model, but I would like to be able to upgrade the GPU in the future, so I thought, I get an Akitio Node Pro, take out the controller, design my own chassis and put a Vega 56 and the controller in that chassis. Also, I would put an m.2 to Thunderbolt 3 converter with a 500GB m.2 SSD into that chassis. I have a 3D-Mouse that I'd like to use with this setup, so I'd need a USB-Hub, so I thought I could use one of the Thunderbolt 3 connectors of the Node Pro to connect to the MBP and the other one to connect to a Thunderbolt hub, where the m.2 SSD and the 3D-Mouse are connected to. Am I missing anything or do you think this would actually work? Also, is there any cheaper controller with two Thunderbolt 3 ports than the Node Pro?
