Metal case for GDC Beast
Thought I'd stick this here although it's not technically very 'custom' at the moment. Case purchased from eBay UK. It fits the GDC Beast after the lower plastic protector is removed. The board is then screwed to 4 short mounting pillars which secures it firmly in place. Once the GPU is attached a screw then secures the front plate to the steel chassis of the case.
It's currently mounted with a GTX 1050 Ti which is a small card but will hold anything up to 29cm. The back plate of the case either deliberately or by accidental design quirk looks like it can be easily bend around to open the rear allowing longer cards to be used.
I'm planning to spray it matt black to give it a bit of a Razer Core aesthetic and slightly less industrial. Overall very pleased, sturdy, looks good and when used with the DA-2 is a neat one box solution. It also weighs a surprising amount.
Great, today i saw the case, if someone is interested you can buy it here - http://www.dx.com/p/exp-gdc-external-graphics-metal-chassis-silvery-white-435110#.WKTMJVV969K ($49.99)

I've been thinking about buying one of these but can't decide if it's worth 50USD. They also sell an acrylic version that's about half the cost, but it doesn't have the tabs for the GPU mounting bracket.
I'd recommend spending the extra for the metal version, it feels very sturdy and can probably be adapted easily to other uses.
Edit: Thinking about it I wonder if a small NUC would fit in the space behind the card to create an all-in-one gaming box..
