So I had an idea and slapped it together... Dankitio Node?
So I had an unused Dan A4-SFX case and I'm tired of my ugly steel Akitio Node. I took apart the internals of the node and put them in the Dan A4-SFX case. All that was needed was some motherboard stand-offs and drilling of the holes. Looks pretty decent. Anyways I thought I'd just share it with the community. Pics below.
How do you have a spare Dan case kicking about?!
That is a great mod though, and actually a better size than most eGPUs, if I was made of money I'd be tempted ted to do the same (or maybe with a Ghost case).
@itsage Yes the PSU fit with ease. I forgot to include a photo of that installed so I updated the post. I'm trying to look for options for an IO shield (even though there's only 1 port), perhaps a solid black piece of cardboard or plastic cut to shape.
@Eightarmedpet Cheers, lol. Well I had a build in that case but it ran too hot, so I moved it over to a Louqe Ghost S1 chassis. Yes the Dan case is really small, even smaller than the Akitio Node which I'm all about.
Nice! How are you finding your Ghost? I’ve just bought one to ride me over until Apple updates the small MacBook.
wow, thats a unique combo! hopefully I find the build at least manageable...
