[Solved] I just want to ask before I purchase questions
First of all thank you for your help.
Here I have a laptop, acer nitro5, i5 9300H + 16 giga of ram + SSD of 512+ Gtx1050 3gb.
I opened my laptop to add ram and I took a picture of the motherboard with a lot of connection on it, but which one should I choose?
I have an SSD in mv2, a possible slot for a hard drive (currently available), a PCI and pci express available.
I read that the mv2 would be the fastest, but I would have to switch to a dd type 2.5 and in comparison I will lose speed for games and startup, etc, etc.
Thank you and good day
@zain_ali, maybe this is helpful, go to the solution which is marked green.
Dell M4800, i want a egpu, someone help pls
I've got a HP elitebook 820 g2 and I'm wondering if anyone has experience with using the ngff port for the exp gdc.
I saw that some hp laptops don't want to work with an egpu because of the whitelist thingy. If anyone knows about this let me know. 🙂
I removed my wifi card and i saw that the ngff from the egpu was bigger than the ngff slot from my wifi card.
Hey, I have a laptop 15-ch032ng 3dm26ea#abd https://support.hp.com/id-en/document/c05956456, please advise me is there any budget solution for egpu setup for some sensible card on this? some docking station or something like that.
First time posting on the forums here. I've sifted through some prior posts but haven't been able to find info for my particular application.
I have an HP Omen 15 laptop, equipped with a 7th gen i7, Intel integrated graphics and a built in Nvidia GTX 1050, running on windows 10. My logic is that I already have a laptop with a strong enough processor, upgraded to 32GB of RAM, and plenty of SSD storage, and my laptop hasnt moved from my desk in over a year, so I find it hard to justify investing in building a desktop to accomplish the same task my laptop already does.
My model is a few years old and does NOT support thunderbolt 3, so I am going the route of connecting to my unused M.2 4x PCIe slot with the common R43SG system. I have a good understanding of how to install the eGPU and the components required (R43SG adapter, external PSU, etc). My questions are as follows.
What extra steps, if any, will I need to take in regards to BIOS settings given my system already has a dGPU?
Will using NVidia card as the eGPU cause unnecessary headaches and driver conflicts due to the dGPU also being NVidia, as opposed to buying a similar-performing AMD card?
EDIT: If I were to use an NVidia card, I would likely be buying a 980ti or a 1070. Has anyone used these cards in combo with a 1050 dGPU? The driver version is the same and both are currently supported- it will be a question of if the 'notebook' version of the NVidia drivers will play nice with a desktop card.
Will I need to use an external monitor for my application to work, or will it likely function using the integrated laptop display? Will connecting the eGPU to an external display cause less headaches in regards to setup?
Thank you for your time folks.
HP Omen 15- i7 7700, 256GB M.2 SSD/1TB SATA SSD, 32GB RAM, Intel Integrated Graphics & NVidia GTX 1050
Patrice from France, i recently bought on Banggood a mini PC GMK working on windows. Is somebody have a exeperience to use this PC with external GPU? I have already use such a configuration on a old Packard Bell notebook with GDC and connected at the mPCIe internal wifi card slot (thanks to Nando software).
The mini PC have not any PCIe slot, just USB3, HDMI and M2 internal dedicated to SSD storage, any idea using adaptator or something else to use in such a configuration?
Thanks for your help
I have an ASUS X555QG Laptop and I'm planning to have an eGPU to improve its gaming performance. I did a bit of research and I know that I need an EXP GDC and connect it to the motherboard where my Wi-Fi is connected via something called PCI express. I don't know very much and I don't know if my laptop can even run with an eGPU. Can anyone help me with what I need to do and what GPU can my device handle?
My CPU is an AMD A10-9600P RADEON R5
Thank you very much!
I have lenovo thinkpad L412. I read on some forums that lenovo has whitelisted the bios to use specified components. Will exp gdc work on my laptop ?
